Loki's silence progress 1 - sketch

This is my biggest portrait project for quite a while, so I figured I may as well keep you posted with my progress on this particular piece.

So far I really don't like the sketch, but hopefully as I draw the actual digital painting the finished product will be more ironed out.

As you can probably tell, this is Loki as portrayed by Tom Hiddleston in Thor and The Avengers. He's such a beautifully heart-wrenching character. This picture is based on his punishment that I heard about, his lips being sown together with the Thread of Silence, or something? I think it's part of the original Norse myth, but I haven't had the chance to look it up yet, I just heard it referenced a lot and thought it sounded awesome.
